For over
15 years, Inca Hammocks has been recognized as a leader
in providing quality hammocks and accessories to a worldwide
market. This longevity and the ability to meet the needs
of its customers were instilled from the very earliest
days. Founder and current chairman, Mr.S.N.Bhatt, started
it all with a drive to be creative and improve on an
idea, for the Cork business he ran.
In 1990, Mr.S.N.Bhatt,
who ran one of the largest Cork units in the Country,
had an idea to assemble, different pieces of Cork stoppers
together and make it Floatation device in a Swimming
Pool also make it a Naturally breathing Hammock with
help of some accessories. His son Dhananjay.S.Bhatt,
who was given this unit to run from the very fist day
of inception, from a scratch has taken the company with
the help of his team-mates to where it is today. With
a keen interest in how things are made and a desire
to make something better, he discovered that this seemingly
simple tool of relaxation could be improved. From that
desire, Dhananjay began improving upon the design in
many areas, from the strength of the rope to the safety
of the hanging chain.

Started handcrafted hammocks manufacturing with “empty
hands”. Presently, he is providing employment
opportunity to “umpteen” number of people.
Yes, Dananjay, personally
began selling his newly hand crafted rope hammocks from
the trunk of his car along the Coramandel coast, with
a total employee strength of 11 and slowly started selling
them Overseas, during his trips to USA & Europe,
with a workforce of over 350 out of which 90% are women.
He has put India in
the world map in manufacturing hammocks and its accessories.
Inca Hammocks is the only ISO certified Hammock manufacturer
in the world.
During the early years
of business, Dhananjay and his wife Mamta were co-workers
or had some family friends as customers for the newly
formed Inca Hammocks. With every sale and every year
that passed, Dhananjay never lost sight of his early
goals to constantly strive to make the product better
and to make customer service a top priority.
By 2003, Inca Hammocks,
had grown to become the largest hammock manufacturer
in Asia, being suppliers to the top two Hammock companies
in the World. Inca Hammocks has won awards for the past
13 years in a row and are the only ISO-9001: 2000 certified
Hammock producer it the World.
